Kristian Schröder

Kristian Schröder (1655 Goslar Germany - 1702 Prague) was an imperial and royal painter, custodian and supervisor of the picture gallery in the Prague's Castle.

Schröder did not abound in creativeness but he went down to history as the teacher of the two geniuses - Petr Brandl as well as Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel studied painting by Schröder. Schröder had not been member of the painting guild yet when he had trained Brandl and had not had the right of the full professor. Brandl was the eighth student who did not finish the training by him. Schröder entered the guild only in the year 1694. Today, not one autonomous painting work can be ascribed to Schröder for a certainty.

After the Schröder's death Santini-Aichel married his daughter Veronika Alzbeta in 1707.
